Built by James Rownd Morris, then clerk of Worcester County Court, & his wife Leah Winder Morris, sister of Col. Levin Winder, who became a general & the 14th Governor of the state of Maryland. It has been known as Boxhaul, Ingleside, & Chanceford, & is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.Chanceford Hall has been operated as a bed & breakfast since the 80's, & all its beautifully decorated bedrooms have private baths & central heat & a/c. The house has 18" flemish bond brick construction, & most of the original interior is intact, & includes intricately carved woodwork & mantels. A full breakfast is included with your stay.
