Ahh, St. Patrick's Day. The mid-March celebration where Baltimore residents and visitors alike gather at local Irish pubs and other city locales to don their best green garb and celebrate the luck of the Irish. When it comes to really celebrating St. Patrick's Day in true Baltimore fashion, though, nothing beats the annual Baltimore St. Patrick's Day Parade.
The 57th Annual Baltimore St. Patrick Parade goes down on Sunday, March 11 this year and travels throughout the best areas in Downtown Baltimore. The parade begins at 2 p.m. at the Washington Monument before traveling down North Charles Street, then Platt Street before ending at the Inner Harbor.
The James Joyce Irish Pub and Restaurant will hold a St. Patrick's Day Parade Brunch before the festivities that will include scrambled eggs, O'Briens potatoes, Irish brown bread, fresh orange juice, $4 Bloody Mary/Mimosa drink specials, and more. The brunch starts at 10:30 a.m. Admission is $25 for adults and $15 for kids ages 2-12. Reservations should be made in advance by calling (410) 467-4147 or emailing paradebrunch@gmail.com.
If you're a runner, the Shamrock 5k run will provide an awesome race experience before the parade kicks off. This 3.1 mile run will take you all throughout beautiful Downtown Baltimore with thousands of runners from around the city. Registration is $45 and includes a green Brooks technical t-shirt and entry to the post race party with refreshments, FREE beer, and live music. The race starts at 1:15 p.m. at the intersection of Charles and Franklin Streets.
